The village of Mamoiada is located in central Sardinia, on the northern slope of the Gennargentu massif. In this area and in the surrounding communities, outstanding wines are produced, fine cheeses are crafted, and delicious breads are baked. Popular and renowned beyond Mamoiada's borders are the local sweets prepared especially during the carnival season. The community of only 2,500 residents is also known for its traditional, ancient carnival masks and is considered the most hospitable village in Sardinia, where football is, of course, indispensable. The "Folgore Mamoiada" club, established in 1956, plays and trains at the "Chiccu Galante" Sports Ground, which underwent extensive renovations in 2020. During this renovation, the LigaGrass Pro artificial turf was installed – our all-rounder for football. It features a filament with a triangular cross-section that ensures optimized fiber stability while giving the turf immense volume and a stable structure, enhanced by Polytan's special ENTANGLEMENT technology. Visually, the LigaGrass Pro impresses with the BiColour color scheme of its textured filaments, creating an exceptionally natural lawn effect in vibrant green. With the CoolPlus function, the turf’s heat generation under direct sunlight is significantly reduced – an advantage especially effective for textured turf systems like LigaGrass Pro, thanks to its large surface area for reflecting heat radiation. LigaGrass Pro is now also available in a version made with recycled materials, marketed as LigaGrass Pro R. Thanks to its PCR-recycling content, this version particularly meets the sustainability requirements that are increasingly important when choosing artificial turf systems. The LigaGrass Pro R is available in both sand- and performance-infill-filled versions and a pure sand-filled option. Polytan LigaGrass Pro is suitable for multifunctional use in all sports, making it ideal for community sports venues such as the Campo Sportivo Chiccu Galante. This durable and low-maintenance turf retains its premium look even after long-term use. The renovation work on the facility is now complete. As the municipality highlights, this is only the first phase of a larger project that has already been approved and funded. As part of this development, the field will be transformed into a public sports center, creating additional jobs. The Campo Sportivo Chiccu Galante, featuring its new artificial turf field, will be open year-round, shining like a green oasis amidst Sardinia's landscape.
