Types of Synthetic Surface

Polytan sports surfaces: from professional competition surfaces to soft-impact playgrounds

As a rule, structured track surfaces (Polytan PURand WS/WSS) are used for professional competitions and training venues for elite athletes. They are characterised by energy-enhancing tread elasticity and sports shoes with spikes can be worn on them with no problem.

Areas of use include

  • Large stadiums
  • National training centres
  • Combined athletics and football facilities
  • University sports facilities
  • Indoor athletics centres
  • Elite centres

The water-permeable Polytan sports surfaces (Polytan SSE and FS) are a multifunctional, robust foundation for sport in general, school sports and communal sports facilities. The primary advantages are low maintenance costs as well as a high level of wear resistance. They also dry out quickly, making them suitable for year-round use as all-weather pitches.

Areas of use include

  • Schools
  • Clubs
  • Multipurpose outdoor sports areas (e.g. football, basketball, tennis and handball)
  • Soft-impact surface for children’s playgrounds, parks and kindergartens
