Systematic success - Polytan system design is tried and tested

Polytan develops and installs modern synthetic surfaces, with the combination of the individual components playing a crucial role in our system design: the balance between the asphalt substrate, base layer and top layer is of course based on the current version of the applicable norms. 

Asphalt substrate

The asphalt substrate is made from natural aggregates and bituminous bonding agents in a single or dual-layer construction. This is generally water permeable and helps to make the synthetic surface stable.

Base layer

The base layer consists of rubber granules and polyurethane bonding agents. It helps to make the surface elastic and is cast in a variety of designs and thicknesses. It is thanks to the base layer that the synthetic surface finally achieves a specific level of shock absorbency and provides extremely good conditions not only for all sporting disciplines, but also for use as a soft-impact surface in children’s playgrounds for example.

Coating and installation

Depending on the area of application, Polytan offers various types of surface that can be applied to the base layer. All the individual system components are installed in-situ by Polytan specialists.
